Sustainable Style Starts From the Ground Up

When Aventura first began their mission in 2006, 18% of the clothing was made with organic cotton. Since then, they’ve expanded their sustainable fabric selection to allow for even richer and softer fabrics throughout the collections. Today, over 75% of their styles use lower impact or sustainable materials.

Guaranteed For Life

The year was 1980, and Alex Tilley had just founded his company, then a sailing apparel retailer. Among its first available pieces was the T3 Hat , a humble hat that packed a punch, made from cotton duck fabric and featuring a wind cord designed to keep it steady on the tousled heads of seaward sailors. Before long, Tilley expanded, attracting the attention of worldly travellers and big dreamers alike, offshore and on. Adventurers both aspiring and on the move donned the hat, a champion of practical comfort, functionality, and style. Over time Tilley has evolved and changed as the world did, but one thing has stayed the same: the beloved T3.

Serious Sun Protection

Look for the sun icon to determine which hats have a UPF rating of 30+ or 50+. These fabrics are tested by the Australian Radiation Protection Agency and block 96 to 97.5% of the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Ultraviolet radiation, or UV, is present in sunlight. The Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) shows how well a fabric protects your skin from solar UV. Always remember that a Wallaroo Skin Cancer Foundation approved hat only protects the skin it covers. Safeguard the rest of your body by wearing sunglasses and sunscreen.
